Family Play Place
Children discover and practice new skills through purposeful play, and toys are their tools. The Family Play Place at MPPL is a safe, fun environment where you and your young child age 4 or younger can read, play, and learn. This specially designed space features materials for children and parents, including board books, picture books, toys, puzzles, blocks and drawing stations, all creating opportunities for little ones to explore.
As your child’s first and most important teacher, these activities will help you build your child’s early literacy skills.
Play, Learn & Grow Sessions
Play, learn and grow with your toddler (12 to 36 months) in an informal setting with other parents and toddlers.
Session topics include early literacy; speech, hearing and development; child development; nutrition; and music, play and movement. Someone who knows about each topic will be on hand to answer questions.
Younger or older siblings, less than 5 years old, may attend with the registered child and parent.
A series of 5 sessions are held each spring. Registration is required and is for the entire series. See the library calendar for dates.
