UPDATE 03/13/19: LIBRARY 7TH ANNUAL EVENING OF ART ON MARCH 28 HAS BEEN CANCELLED
DUE TO ONGOING CONCERNS OF THE COVID-19 VIRUS.
Come celebrate spring with art, music and refreshments at the 7th Annual Friends of the Library Evening of Art at the Mount Pleasant Public Library on Saturday, March 28, from 6 to 8 p.m.
“This fund-raising event of the library is dear to my heart because artists get to come together as friends and to share their creativity with the public,” said Debbie Strong, art curator for the event. “I am so proud to say that we are in our seventh year, and I look forward to many more!”
Special guests at the family-friendly gathering include, Jared Chapman, a local children’s author/illustrator whose book, Vegetables in Underwear, was chosen as an American Library Association Book of the Year. Mr. Chapman will share his love and talent for illustration as he actually draws with children attending.
Joseph Parks, a local silversmith, will present his one-of-a-kind jewelry designs, and Irene Richardson will also have her wonderful pottery on display. Other local and nationally-known artists will feature their work in pen and ink, watercolor and oil.
While you take in the art and music, you’ll also enjoy delicious chocolates from The Sweet Shop, fruit and sparkling cider. Admission for adults is $10 and $5 for children. Tickets are available at the door or in advance at the library. All proceeds benefit the library through the Friends of the Library.
