Message from Chief of Police Wayne Isbell

Chief Wayne IsbellWelcome to the Mount Pleasant Police Department website. I'm Wayne Isbell and it is an honor to serve as your Chief of Police. The men and women of the Mount Pleasant Police Department are committed to the philosophy of community policing and strive to build partnerships in all facets of our city. Through the establishment of exemplary programs, a proactive approach to problem solving, and a shared responsibility with the public, our goal is to enhance the quality of life of our citizens.

Our foremost concern is the protection of our citizens, visitors and merchants. The Department currently serves a population of approximately 17,000 residents and welcomes the challenge of serving a growing residential and business community. By fostering a spirit of involvement and open communication between citizens and police, we seek to abridge a strong police - public partnership.

The Mount Pleasant Police Department strives to maintain an exemplary level of professionalism and is a State Recognized agency. The Texas Police Chief Association Law Enforcement Recognition Program is a voluntary process where police agencies in Texas prove their compliance with 166 Texas Law Enforcement Best Practices. These Best Practices were carefully developed by Texas Law Enforcement professionals to assist agencies in the efficient and effective delivery of service, the reduction of risk and the protection of individual’s rights.  The Mount Pleasant Police Department has been consecutively Recognized since 2008.

Each member of the police department is continuously challenged to maintain high levels of professionalism and integrity towards all we serve. I invite you, our community members, to provide both positive and negative feedback on how well we are serving Mount Pleasant. My administrative office is located in the Police Department which is connected to the Mount Pleasant City Hall complex at 501 N Madison.

Thank you for allowing me to serve and be a member of this great community.
