Things To Do
Mount Pleasant Public Library offers programs and many other activities for children, teens, and adults. In addition to library programs, several interest groups meet at the library.

Public interests are considered when planning events, so please let us know what types of programs you would like to attend.
Activities for Children & Families
Play, Learn & Grow Program
Play, learn and grow with your toddler
(12-36 months) in an informal setting with other parents and toddlers.
A series of 5 sessions are held each spring.
Registration is required and is for the entire series!

Family Play Place
The Family Play Place at MPPL is a safe, fun environment where you and your young child
age 4 or younger can read, play, and learn.
This specially-designed space features materials for children and parents, including board books, picture books, toys, puzzles, blocks and drawing stations, all creating opportunities for little ones to explore.

Story Time
Story Time sessions for preschoolers are presented most Tuesdays at 11 a.m. Activities include stories, fingerplays, simple crafts, and more. A parent or adult caregiver must attend with the child. Check the
library calendar for dates.
Play Dates
Meet us a the library for a play date! Activities include sensory play, loose parts play, and more. Watch
library calendar for dates and times.
The Hangout
A place for school-age kids to ummmm...well....you know..... hang out! Legos, art supplies, puzzles, board and card games are located near the juvenile book shelves. Computers are nearby. Additional activities such as simple crafts, interactive displays, and STEAM projects are changed often.
Summer Fun Program
Join the Reading Club to earn freebies from local restaurants and to enter prize drawings. Drop in for crafts, games, scavenger hunts, and more, or attend a super science session! See the

Family Events
Visit the library for fun for the entire family. Events are held throughout the year.
Past events include Ninja Day, Day of the Dead Celebration, Noon Year's Eve Party, and Santa's Secret Workshop.

Color Me Calm
Remember how much you enjoyed coloring as a child? The library has coloring sheets and pencils for grown-ups. Drop by the library to color....and be calm!

Book Clubs
The Pulpwood Queens Book Club meets monthly at the library to discuss books chosen by the original Pulpwood Queen, Kathy L. Murphy. See

Pushing the Limits Book Club meets monthly at the library to discuss books with a science or technology aspect. See

Color Me Calm
Remember how much you enjoyed coloring as a child? The library has coloring sheets and pencils for grown-ups. Drop by the library to color....and be calm!
Small Talk
Practice a new language, or brush up on an old one. Enjoy meeting new people in a relaxed atmosphere while your little ones, ages 2-5 year play in the children's area. Sessions are held on the second Friday of each month from 5 p.m. til 6 p.m. See the

Painting with Friends
Gather your friends and join us for an evening of painting at the library. Program is presented by local artist, NTCC adjunct, and friend of the library Debbie Strong. Painting with Friends is sponsored by the Friends of the Mount Pleasant Public Library. Check the

Quilt Show
Drop by to see the amazing skill and artistry of local quilters. The show is held annually near Mother's Day. See the

Needlework Group
Learn a new craft or work on a current project. Group meets on Mondays at 10:00 a.m.

Let us help you with a new skill or a troublesome device! Meet with a librarian for a 30-45 minute session and receive one-to-one instruction and guidance. Choose a session listed below or suggest a new one:
