SUMMER FUN

Get ready for FUN! 

Summer programs have been updated... we’ve added more fun than ever!  Early registration begins Wednesday,
June 01, and programs begin on Monday, June 13.Summer Programs will run for seven weeks and end on July 29. 

 Reading Clubs

Take time to read this summer.  Earn coupons for free ice cream, pizza, and more. Reading is twice the fun when
freebies are up for grabs!

  • READ the book or magazine of your choice
  • RECORD the amount of time you spent reading
  • REDEEM  the card for a coupon (3 hours reading required)
  • REPEAT!

 Coupons available beginning June 20.

There's something for everyone at the library!  Please choose programs from the appropriate age group.

 
   ACTIVITY GUIDES
0-3 years

Mother Goose Activity Guides (new guide available each Monday)
Guides are full of ideas for parents to use with infants and toddlers thru age 3.  Weekly themes
focus on Mother Goose rhymes and board books. Other activities include sensory play and movement.
Simple crafts are included for older toddlers. Pick and choose the activities that your child is interested
 in!


3-6
years

Read & Play
(new activity guides available each Monday)
Read and Play guides for preschool kids were created with busy families in mind.  Drop by at your
convenience, grab an activity guide, and let the fun begin. Pick and choose what you want to do.
Weekly themes include Gossie & Friends, Llama Llama, Dino-Roar, and more.

Kids

Read & More (new activity guides available each Monday)
Read....and so much more! Scavenger hunts, games, crafts, and other activities for older kids focus
on popular book series. Themes change each week and activities are available from 10 a.m. til
5:30 p.m. Monday thru Friday. Themes include Dragons, Olympic Skills, Survival Games, Adventure,
 and more..

Sensory Play (June 30 & July 14 from 11-11:45 a.m.)
Activities to stimulate your little one's senses, and great ideas for homemade toys and activities.
0-4 years

Story Time with Ms. Natalie (Tuesdays at 11 a.m.)
Story Time sessions for preschoolers will be presented each Tuesday at 11 a.m. Sessions include
stories, rhymes, and easily adaptable activities for kids 4 and under.
8-12
years

STEAM!

STEAM stand for science, technology, engineering, arts and math, and we'll explore it all in this program. 
Programs begin promptly at 2 p.m.  Due to safety concerns, latecomers will NOT be admitted!

School Age 
Kid Scoop (Wednesdays at 11 a.m.)
Join the editor of the Daily Tribune for puzzles and games featured in the Kid Scoop page.

Yoga for Kids (Wednesdays at 9 a.m.)
Wednesday at 9 a.m. in the garden. Bring your own mat or towel.

Random Acts of Fun

Keep an eye on the library's calendar and facebook page-you won't want to miss our "Random Acts of Fun"     postings. Every week or so during the summer, we'll post a random activity- because you can't have too much              fun! Activities may include bubbles in the garden, free snowcones or popcorn, Lego Block Parties, and more.

   FAMILY FUN PROGRAMS
            
Summer Fun Kick-Off Celebration (June 13)
Kick-off Summer Fun with special activities, prizes, & crafts and a visit from Korn Pop the Clown.
  Kornpop the Clown (June 13 at 2 p.m.)
Kornpop, AKA Larry the Lifeguard, is back with more magic and balloon creations!

Magician Johnny Sax (June 25 at 11 a.m.)
Join the library in welcoming local performer Johnny Sax!

Family Game Days (June 24 & July 08)
Add more fun to your day with games at the library. Game days may include card or board games, scavenger hunts, life-sized games, and more.

MEMBERSHIP OPTIONS FOR SUMMER FUN AT THE LIBARY


EVERY CHILD PARTICIPATING IN ANY PROGRAM MUST REGISTER!

Children who wish to check out books and materials must have a valid
MPPL card. The card must be presented each time a child checks out books or other materials, or redeems a time card.  Valid cards have current information (address/phone) and are free of fees and fines.
Options are available for kids and families who live outside of Titus County and would like to participate.

  In-County 
 /Resident
Membership
In-county residents may apply for a FREE card.
If the original card is lost,  a replacement card/key tag set may be purchased for $5. Replacement cards   have no expiration date and may be used year round. 
As an alternative, a temporary card may be purchased for $2, and expires at the end of the program.
 Out-of-County
 Membership
Anyone living outside of Titus County may choose to purchase an Out-of-County card for $20. 
OC cards are valid for one year and include borrowing privileges, program participation, etc. for the            person to whom the card is issued. 
TexShare Cards TexShare cards are not accepted for Summer Fun programs. Each child participating in Summer             Programs must have an out-of-county card in his/her own name, or purchase a visitor pass to                    attend each program.
