    This month’s Family Night is a big deal. It’s big, because the Candyland will be a life-size game! Fun begins at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
  • Friday, February 17—Crawfish Bisque and Taco Soup 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
    Any way you look at it, this is going to be a busy week! Come in and get your tickets for the FOL Luncheon. Tickets are $10. Monday is the final day to get a ticket.

  1. Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus. A scientist and single mother in the 1960s becomes the star of a TV cooking show. (37 weeks)
  2. The Cabinet of Dr. Leng by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child. Constance Greene travels back in time to prevent the deaths of her siblings. This is number 21 in the Pendergast series. (New this week)
  3. The House of Wolves by James Patterson and Mike Lupica. After her father is murdered, Jenny Wolf becomes the head of a powerful family in California. (2 weeks)
  4. Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin. Two childhood friends begin a challenging partnership in the world of video game design. (17 weeks)
  5. How to Sell a Haunted House by Grady Hendrix. After the death of her parents, Louise encounters more than she expected in dealing with the family home. (New this week)
  6. The House in the Pines by Ana Reyes. Seven years after seeing her best friend drop dead, Maya returns to her Berkshires hometown to piece together what really happened. (3 weeks)
  7. Hell Bent by Leigh Bardugo. Alex risks her future at Lethe and Yale to get Darlington out of purgatory. This is number two in the Alex Stern series. (2 weeks)
  8. The Boys from Biloxi by John Grisham. Following in their fathers’ footsteps puts two friends on opposite sides of the law. (14 weeks)
  9. Demon Copperhead by Barbara Kingsolver. This is a very well-written reimagining of Charles Dickens’s David Copperfield and is set in the mountains of southern Appalachia. (14 weeks)
  10. Fairy Tale by Stephen King. A high school kid inherits a shed that is a portal to another world where good and evil are at war. (20 weeks)

Tops in nonfiction:

  1. Spare by Prince Harry. The Duke of Sussex details his struggles with the royal family, loss of his mother, service in the British Army and marriage to Meghan Markle. (2 weeks)
  2. The Light We Carry by Michelle Obama. The former first lady shares personal stories and the tools she uses to deal with difficult situations. (10 weeks)
  3. The Nazi Conspiracy by Brad Meltzer and Josh Mensch. This is the story of a Nazi plot to kill President Roosevelt, Joseph Stalin and Winston Churchill. (2 weeks)
  4. I’m Glad My Mom Died by Jennette McCurdy. The actress describes her eating disorders and difficult relationship with her mother. (24 weeks)
  5. Straight Shooter by Stephen A. Smith. The ESPN analyst recounts the highs and lows of his life and career. (New this week)
