Contracting an Event
Standard events shall be contracted on a first-come, first-served basis up to one year in advance. Conferences and Trade show events may be contracted two years at a time, with a hold being placed on the third. A deposit of half the rental price is required to hold a date for rental. Event times are Monday – Sunday, 8:00 AM – Midnight.
Who is responsible for setting up the room and cleaning up after an event at the Civic Center?
Civic Center personnel will set up your room as you direct and will clean up after the event. However, eating utensils, table coverings, and decorations are not provided.
How do I rent a room at the Civic Center?
Contact the Civic Center at 903-575-4190 to schedule the event. You will then be asked to sign a contract and pay one-half of the rental fee prior to confirmation. The balance of the rental payment is due prior to the event.
What equipment is available at the Civic Center and what are the charges?
The Civic Center has a state-of-the-art audio / visual system with 4 electric projection screens, wired and wireless microphones, podiums, risers, coffee makers, pianos, and a TV and DVD player available for use at no charge. In addition, the Main Hall can provide accent lighting, background music and a sound system perfect for conferences or banquets. Wireless Internet access is available throughout the center. Are animals allowed in the Civic Center?
No animals or pets are permitted in the building except seeing-eye dogs, animals part of an event, and other legitimate assistance animals. Animals that will be part of an event must be contained in cages in the leased area at all times. Provisions must be provided for their safety and prevention of damage to the facility. Cleanliness is expected, and catch pans must be used under all cages. Grooming may not be done inside the building. Additional insurance and/or deposits may be required.
Is alcohol permitted at the Civic Center?
Only under very specific guidelines. You must discuss this with the Civic Center manager.
