Human Resources Director
SALARY RANGE: $90 to $120 DOQ: start at $105
Under the direction of the City Manager, this position provides comprehensive management of the Human Resources activities for the City. Responsibilities include planning, directing, and coordinating all activities and operations of the human resources functions of the City, including administration of the City’s employee benefits and compensation programs and employee education, training, and organizational development programs. Incumbent ensures compliance with state and federal laws and regulations relating to all employment/labor relations, and monitors legislation affecting the City’s employment relations activities. Position has considerable responsibility, formulation, and execution of broad City policies and procedures. Position has the responsibility of directing risk management functions relative to employee injury/return to work programs and workers’ compensation liability.
Position is encouraged to participate for community relations and partnerships as an official City representative, participation on various boards, chamber programs, civic organizations at the discretion of the City Manager, and manages various other programs and operations as assigned.
Education, Training and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in public administration, management, human resources, organizational development, or closely related field; supplemented by a minimum of 3-5 years management experience demonstrating the ability to develop complex policies and programs, combined with broad experience with human resources practices, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Certification as a human resources, labor relations or employment law professional from a recognized state and/or national organization highly preferred.
