Library Board
The Library Board consists of five members who oversee and recommend rules and regulations governing the use of the library, programs and its equipment.
Currently serving are Frances Covey, Daisy Newman, Paula Dyal, Paula Rose and John Williams.
Friends of the Library
The Friends of the Mount Pleasant Public Library is a non-profit, volunteer organization which connects library advocates and provides resources to strengthen library services.
The mission of the of the Friends is to enrich library services for the benefit of individuals and the community by promoting and supporting the services of the library.
To learn more about the library, attend a Friends meeting. The group meets on the second Monday of each month at 6 p.m. at the library to conduct business and share a potluck dinner. Don’t miss the opportunity to support your library!

Advocacy
- Inform community leaders of the need for adequate library funding
- Increase public awareness of the the library’s resources and service
Support
- Increase public awareness of the the library’s resources and service
- Purchase materials for the library’s collections
- Sponsor public performances at the library
- Fund special library programs
- Provide volunteer assistance at the library
- Fund the BookPage subscription

More Library Volunteers
As the library grows, so does the need for more volunteers.
Some areas in which you may be able to assist the library staff include museum assistant, cleric, displays, genealogy, mailings, book repair, plant care, shelving, technology, special events/projects, and summer children’s programs. Submit the online application and stop by the library to sign the application. Volunteers need to be 18 years or older to serve. However, special provisions are made for junior high and high school students age 13 & up who are logging community service hours required by school or church affiliations.
Available time slots range from two hours to 4 hours.
