We are pleased to announce that the Mt. Pleasant Fire Department is recruiting enthusiastic individuals to participate in our upcoming Citizen Fire Academy. The academy is a ten-week program designed to provide our customers with a better understanding of the services provided by their fire department.
The program will consist of classroom and “hands-on” instruction. Performing hands-on operations is strictly voluntary and the decision to participate or not will be left up to the participant.
To graduate, students must attend at least seven sessions and spend at least six hours in the “Station Visit/Ride-Out” Program. Graduates of this program will not be firefighters but will be better-informed citizens.
