Several authors made the Library Reads Hall of Fame this month. Sophie Cousens made the list with The Good Part. When Lucy Young wishes with all of her might to “skip to the good part of my life,” she doesn’t realize what she’s asking. When she wakes up, married to a handsome man, and the mother of two children, Sophie wonders what she missed.

Do Your Worst is by Rosie Danan. Riley Rhodes gets a chance to turn her gift for the supernatural into a real business when she’s hired to break the curse on a famous Scottish castle. She’s happy to meet a handsome stranger—until he tries to get her fired. Clark Edgeware and Riley Rhodes are thrown together, both trying to get rid of the other, until the “curse” settles the dispute and sparks begin to fly.

Erika Johansen’s winner is The Kingdom of Sweets. Clara and Natasha are both cursed by their godfather, Drosselmeyer. Clara becomes his favorite, while Natasha is ignored and unloved. Natasha finally gets the upper hand on Christmas Eve. She uncovers the truth about her curse and must reckon with earthly and magical forces to decide which world is her destiny.

Hunt on Dark Waters is by Katee Robert. Evelyn is a witch caught in a storm of impulses. She has terrible taste in men, sticky fingers, and a lust for danger. She steals from her ex and falls through a portal into another realm. She is fished out of the water by a band of pirates and is given a choice—join their ship’s crew or die.

The ever-popular Nora Roberts returns with Inheritance: The Lost Bride Trilogy. In 1806 Astrid Poole sits in her bridal clothes, overwhelmed with happiness. Right after the marriage ceremony she is murdered. Her last words are a promise to Collin to never leave him.  Fast forward to the present and graphic designer Sonya MacTavish is stunned to find that an uncle she never knew has left her everything he owned, including a majestic Victorian house. The will stipulates that she must live there three years. As she moves in, Sonya realizes that the house is “just a little bit haunted.”

We look forward to seeing you at our Open House. Please make plans to attend the lighting on the square and the library for snacks and a craft.
