Employee Spotlight – Scott Payne

Scott Payne has proudly served the City of Mount Pleasant since September 2015 as a Utilities Welder. Originally from Mount Pleasant, Scott says he’s always wanted to work for the city, and before joining MP, he worked for the City of Mesquite for seven years. One of his favorite parts of the job is working across departments on new builds and repairs.

Outside of work, Scott enjoys hunting and working with farm animals. He’s been married to his better half, Jeneta, for 45 years.

When asked what song would play when he walks into a room, he chose “Take It to the Limit” by the Eagles. A fun childhood memory he shared was being captivated by the strength of flooded waters. He also carries great advice from Alan Mahoney: always learn more about your job than what is asked of you.

Scott’s dedication, strong work ethic, and team spirit make him a valued part of our Utilities team. We’re grateful for all he brings to the City of Mount Pleasant.
