EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT – DRAKE MOORE

!!Meet Drake Moore!!

Drake began working with the City of Mount Pleasant in August of 2020 in the Animal Services/Animal Control department. He says the best part of his job is dealing with animals. When asked about his greatest career challenge, he said after learning the bare minimum he had to continue learning through trial and error until he was able to take the necessary classes needed to be successful in his role. It’s always tough transitioning into a new job.

In his spare time, Drake likes to fish, play video games, and loves spending time with this family. He and his wife Paige have been married for 15 years, and they have three children. His oldest daughter Shelby is 22, his son Ian is 16, and his youngest daughter Serenity is 13.

When asked if you could have a theme song play every time you enter a room, what would it be? Drake said, the Helldivers theme. I had to look it up because I had no idea what that was but to my surprise, it’s a great entrance song! He said he doesn’t take life too seriously, he has a dark sense of humor and movie quotes get him by daily, because… “why so serious!” He grew up in the late 80’s/early 90’s so he says he quotes a lot of movies.

I think that’s an open invitation, don’t you? So next time you visit the animal shelter, ask for Drake! I’m sure he would be happy to play a quick game of movie trivia with you. In fact, I’m sure he would say, “go ahead, make my day!”
