Employee Spotlight – Mike Onley

Meet Mike Onley, a dedicated member of our Streets Department, who has been serving the City of Mount Pleasant for the past 19 years.
Originally from Dangerfield, TX, Mike is known for being easy to work with and having a good heart. He enjoys joking around, but when it’s time to get the job done, he makes sure it gets done right.
Mike says his favorite part of the job is simple: “I enjoy what I do.” That attitude shows in his work and in the pride he takes in serving our community.
Outside of work, Mike enjoys woodworking, golf, and spending time with family and friends. He has been married to his wife Karen for 5 years, and together they have a daughter, Grace, who is a 10th grader at Chapel Hill and is 14 years old.
The best advice Mike has received came from his dad:
“Stay positive and have a good attitude.”
