Employee Spotlight – Odessa Taylor

Meet Odessa Taylor, a valued team member who has been with the City of Mount Pleasant since 2013! He began working in the Building Maintenance department in 2019 and has been making an impact ever since.

Odessa loves learning new things on the job and brings a spirit of adventure with him wherever he goes. Just last year, he started his world-traveling journey with a trip to Italy, and he’s not stopping there! His goal is to keep exploring new places, one adventure at a time.

A fun fact about Odessa? He enjoys visiting state parks across the country. One of his favorite memories is going state park hopping with her dad and sisters, something he still enjoys doing today!

Originally from Pittsburg, Texas, Odessa’s hobbies outside of work include riding motorcycles, hiking, and swimming. He’s also hoping to check off a big bucket list item this year: visiting the Grand Canyon!

When asked about the best career advice he’s received, he shared words from his boss: “Stick with it.” And that’s exactly what he’s done, showing dedication and curiosity every step of the way.
