Individuals and Local/County Officials Asked to Report Winter Weather Damage
The Texas Department of Emergency Management (TDEM) is asking individuals to report damages resulting from this week’s severe winter weather at: damage.tdem.texas.gov.
City and county officials are also being asked to report infrastructure losses, damages and response costs (personnel/equipment). Jurisdictions may either log into their portals or via TDEM’s website at: pstat.tdem.texas.gov, where there is also a link to the iSTAT. Officials should scroll down to the 23-0005 Severe/Winter Weather 29Jan event in the “Active Incidents” list.
Results of both individual and jurisdiction surveys regarding uninsured damage help the State of Texas determine financial assistance that may be allocated to the incident. The FY 2023 cumulative threshold of $51,587,544 must be met by state and local governments for the state to receive a federal Public Assistance declaration. After the state threshold is met, individual counties must qualify by meeting their own threshold. So reporting your damage will help others, even if Titus County does not meet its own threshold of $138,736.68.
