The City is waiving permit fees for anyone who hires a plumber to repair broken water pipes due to the winter storm. Please be sure to check your repair bill to make sure you have not been charged a permit fee.

In a time where many are at their most vulnerable, there will be people who try to take advantage of that emotion. The Texas Department of Insurance offers tips here on how to avoid problems. Also, never give out sensitive information, such as your social security number.
02/21/21 - 1:40 pm | The regular trash collection schedule of Monday/Tuesday and Thursday/Friday will resume tomorrow (02/23). City facilities including City Hall, the Library, Water Department and Municipal Court will also return to normal schedules.
02/19/21 - 6:00 pm | Yesterday, Governor Abbott announced a statewide effort to collect damage assessment data for this unprecedented winter weather event. Please help demonstrate the damage in Titus County by taking a few minutes to complete the survey below. This will help calculate the scale of this disaster and our eligibility for potential federal recovery assistance programs. It is easy and will only take a couple of minutes.

02/19/21 - 2:00 pm | The City of Mount Pleasant Water System is operational, and there are no plans to shut off service. Mount Pleasant customers are not under a boil notice. Utility workers have been working around the clock to ensure service during this extreme weather.
02/19/21 - 11:45 am | The Civic Center is open again today as a Warming Center and will continue to be available as long as needed during this severe weather. If you need access to the Civic Center for shelter after working hours, please first call our dispatch number at 903-575-4004 for assistance.
02/18/21 - 1:35 pm | The City has opened the Civic Center (1800 N Jefferson Ave.) as a Warming Center. It is open now until 8 p.m., and Friday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Please bring anything you need to be comfortable such as a blankets, camp chairs, snacks and bottled water, phone and charger. Guests will be required to check-in and be screened for COVID-19. Pets/animals are not allowed.
02/18/21 - 11:45 am | The City's Water Department and Municipal Court are closed until Monday 02/22. The City will not disconnect your water for non-payment during this closure.
Court tickets and Utility bills can still be paid online.

02/17/21 - 4:45 pm | Due to the continued road conditions, there will not be trash collection for City of Mount Pleasant customers on Thursday or Friday. The normal collection schedules of Monday/Tuesday and Thursday/Friday will resume next week, beginning Monday, February 22.
02/17/21 - 1:00 pm | The City's water system is operating and water is safe to drink. While there are ice issues at the plant requiring a small reduction in pressure during repairs, there are no plans to reduce service but rather ensure that water service continues throughout the severe weather. Our Utility Services staff are working hard for the community.
12/16/21 - 2:30pm | SWEPCO is monitoring a second, potentially dangerous winter storm that may bring a mix of snow and more than half an inch of ice to the Ark-La-Tex Tuesday and Wednesday, potentially causing extended power outages. Learn More Here

02/15/21 - 3:30 pm | City Hall will be open tomorrow (Tuesday 16th, February) for essential employees ONLY. Library and Utility Offices will be closed.
02/14/21 - Due to the weather and road conditions, there will not be trash collection for City of Mount Pleasant customers on Monday or Tuesday.
A decision will be made on Wednesday whether or not it is safe to resume collection on Thursday and Friday. Please watch here or the City Facebook page for updates.
