PUBLIC HEARING: HAZARD MITIGATION ACTION PLAN

The City of Mount Pleasant Hazard Mitigation Team will hold a public meeting on September 11, 2023 and September 18, 2023 at 6 PM in the City Council Chambers located at 501 North Madison. The purpose of the meeting is to get input from the public on the City’s Hazard Mitigation Action Plan. The purpose of the Hazard Mitigation Action Plan is to implement actions to help reduce the loss of life and property due to the impacts of disasters.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING: ZONING CHANGE 1201 & 1227 N. JEFFERSON

Hold a public hearing to discuss and consider a request from Richard W. Baker, on behalf of RB Capital, Ltd for the approval of a zoning change from GR (General Retail District) to C (Commercial District) for a 1.185-acre parcel of land being described as Mount Pleasant City Blocks, Block 52, Lot 11, a part of the Berry Merchant Survey, Abstract No. 358, City of Mount Pleasant, Titus County, Texas, generally located on the northwest corner of W. 12th Street and N. Jefferson Avenue [BUS-271], is addressed as 1201 N. Jefferson Avenue, and take any action necessary.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON 2023-2024 BUDGET

The City Council for the City of Mount Pleasant will hold a public hearing to consider the Fiscal Year 2024 Proposed Budget on Tuesday September 5, 2023, at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall located at 501 North Madison, Mount Pleasant Texas.

THIS BUDGET WILL RAISE MORE REVENUE FROM PROPERTY TAXES THAN LAST YEAR’S BUDGET BY $514,470, WHICH IS A 10% PERCENT INCREASE FROM LAST YEAR’S BUDGET.  THE PROPERTY TAX REVENUE TO BE RAISED FROM NEW PROPERTY ADDED TO THE TAX ROLL THIS YEAR IS $88,807.

You are urged to attend and express your views at the public hearing.
